Count Me In

Unit 42 Eurolink Centre, 49 Effra Road, London, SW2 1BZ
Tel: 020 7738 6872. Fax: 020 7738 7140

HIV/AIDS - Local Services - London
No one wants to catch HIV, but every year more and more gay men catch it and will live with the negative effects for the rest of their lives. But there is something we can do about it. Count Me In is an exciting new campaign by GMFA. Its goal is to stop the spread of HIV in the gay community and you can be a part of it. As part of the campaign, men are showing their commitment to stopping the spread of HIV in our community by agreeing to a 5-point action plan:

- I will know my HIV status
- I will not assume I know someone elseÕs HIV status
- I will take personal responsibility for using condoms
- I will value myself and my health
- I will stay informed about HIV and how it is spread

These five points get to the heart of why gay men are continuing to catch HIV. If we all commit to them, we can stop this virus. We know it wonÕt always be easy, but together we can make a real difference. Have a look at the videos and find out why other guys have decided to be part of the campaign and if it makes sense then to youÉ then join us! Make your own video about what Count Me In means to you and how you think HIV effects us today. Post it on YouTube, write on our wall or scroll down and find out all the other ways you can get involved. ItÕs time to stand up and be counted if we are going to beat this virus once and for all.

Together we can stop the spread of HIV - this is only the beginning!

After all, 7 out of 10 of us have taken the test and we all have our own stories when it comes to HIV testing. Why we did it, how often we do it, what the clinic was like, and how we felt about the result.

By sharing our experiences we hope to be able to help others who aren't sure what to expect or where to go. So whatever your story, tell us and help and inspire others to test - or test again.
