Doncaster Pride

Doncaster Market Square

Festivals/Events - Community - North East
The 3rd Annual Doncaster Pride is billed to be 'bigger and better', something of a tall order when you recognise Doncaster Pride was acclaimed the 'fastest growing Pride in the UK' after only it's second event last year - all this due to an increase in numbers from 1000 in 2007 to over 5000 only 12 months later.

Pride PR spokesperson Jenny Dewsnap said 'We've been inundated with requests from bands, singers, dancers and performers; it seems everyone wants to be on the Pride Stage. At the moment we're reviewing all the acts to try and make sure we get the best we can for the budgets we have available and that will give something for everyone.'

'The big news is that this week we've signed our first band - Abba Revival - a Doncaster based Abba tribute band! We thought after the massive success of our Kylie tribute last year our visitors would respond well to an Abba tribute.'

Festivals/Events - Community - Brighton
2010 is in Brighton again building on last years success. This year we are proud to have a new patron: Dan Gillespie Sells, Lead singer of The Feeling.

Why do we need National Student Pride? University is often the first time people come out and although there are many LGBT students who are comfortable with who they are, there are also a lot of students who are struggling to come to terms with their sexuality. This is why we at Student Pride believe it is important to have a presence on university campuses not only for them but also for the rest of our university communities, to see yes we are here and yes it is normal.
